Since i had finished my first art work I gave myself the artist name "Cathy Steel".
My first serious creative art picture was created in March 1997.
I was inspired by Henri Matisse, The french painter, and especially by his papercut works.
Quite a few pictures were created with this method in the beginning.
Later I experimented with other techniques like acrylic painting and creating
collages
and photo mosaics.
However, my favorite has become creating pop art pictures by transforming real photographs through a graphics program and recomposing and altering
them so that there are revived and minimalized to achieve the very unique pop art style.
